Peanut Butter Mini Pies
So, yeah. Peanut Butter & Chocolate. Is there anything better? I don't think so. I think salty/sweet desserts need their own category, respectfully. I've recently added, Peanut Butter & Chocolate Pie Cups to my menu under Mini Pies, and I don't think you will be disappointed. I had FUN taste testing these babies! Most PB&C pies call for a light, whipped topping consistency for the filling. I like those too, but I wanted to find a way to create that thick, rich and salty peanut butter filling, similar to a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (my absolute favorite candy). Because it is a refrigerated pie, it comes out very similar (a bit more creamy than that of the standard candy), but still firm, salty with just a tough of sweetness. Perfect! For the crust, I went with a chocolate shortbread crust, just to give it that definite signature duel taste of sweet and salt. It's not over-chocolaty, so I decided to also include chocolate whipped cream to top it with as well as chocolate jimmies. I think it gives it a nice (subtly sweet) garnish that looks almost too good to eat... almost. With temps heating up all across the country, I figure this little pie is just right for summer parties, weddings, or just to beat the heat. Your order will come chilled so you can serve and enjoy right away! Order yours here. Thanks and stay sweet!
